Re: Graham Potter
I think hes been sounded out for a job already and is confident of being in a job this summer to turn down the Ajax offer - and of course its not going to be with us.Originally posted by Trigger View PostWho on here thinks he could take over from Bulut?
Surprised he would have turned down Ajax, a great club that is having a challenging time but plenty of scope for improvement. Wouldn't do the CV any harm.

It does the CV no good if the job's too much for you.Originally posted by Trigger View PostWho on here thinks he could take over from Bulut?

Didn’t do AVB any harm. Promoted to jobs way above his ability and previous CV and then got 10 years wages for 2/3 years work at Chelsea and Spurs. Landed some decent jobs after that too.
And in championship terms Michael Beale hasn’t done too bad out of being shit and out of his depth.

I'm talking about Potter. He can't afford to fail again at a big club.Originally posted by J R Hartley View PostAbsolute bollox

Why not? If he fails at another big club there will still be opportunitys for him below that.Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostI'm talking about Potter. He can't afford to fail again at a big club.
Poch has failed at plenty big clubs but still keeps getting the gigs.

Re: Graham Potter
Disagree. Potter worked on FA programmes and has outstanding backing from the FA and highly respected. But what Potter needs is a development project, and working and developing younger players. He is a specific type of coach.Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostI'm talking about Potter. He can't afford to fail again at a big club.
Chelsea didn’t see that he wasn’t the type
of coach to work with world class egos. That is why it was a mess. He isn’t Klopp-Guardiola standard so he won’t get a top four gig.
But weirdly I wouldn’t rule out him being offered the England job. Lots of younger players and mates with many at the FA. I don’t think he will deliver major wins for them, but he is a similar coach profile to Southgate.

Some, was it 1?Originally posted by J R Hartley View PostTurns down Ajax. Hes supposedly on Ratcliffes shortlist of managers to replace Ten Haag in the summer.
Yet some on this forum would have you believe its not beyond the realms of possibility that Potter could replace Bulut at Cardiff. :hehe::hehe:
