    Cardiff 3 Chelsea 3

Anyone else at that game? We were 3-0 up with five minutes to play and Chelsea managed to get a point.
Chelsea brought thousands to Ninian Park that day. In fact, I think it was the biggest away following I'd seen at NP.
I can remember seeing loads of fighting in town before the game, and a mass brawl on the football pitches opposite after the game.
I just looked at the attendance and it was 11,060. Seemed like a lot more than that to me.

Anyway, 37 years ago today... blimey!

a poster on here , a right miserable git , was up in the block of the grandstand nearest to the away fans but Chelsea fans were in the enclosure and jumped up and surrounded them

I think its fair to say they were heavily outnumbered , gave a good account of themselves against the odds but in the end a surrender was the only option .

I seem to remember a group of City lads being taken out of the Grandstand and escorted round the side of the pitch.

I was in that small and pretty battered number. Choosing the Grandstand that day wasn't the wisest idea I've ever had.

Chelsea seemed to be in all four ends of NP. Wasn't it just half of the Grange End that was for away fans back then?

They were all over the place, that's for sure. While we were being led out of the Grandstand and around the pitch via the players' tunnel, we were getting attacked by Chelsea loonies in the enclosure. Pretty sure we also got pelted with coins by Chelsea fans in the Canton Stand.

I used to walk back into town to get the bus back to Cowbridge, but decided to take my chances and try and jump on in Canton that day. It seemed to be kicking off everywhere.
