1-0 down at half time but goals from Jack Sykes and Tiger Tobin gave the boys a 2-1 victory.

I only got down for the second half tonight but we deserved it from what I saw, we were much the better side. Rob Tankiewicz looked to be the pick of the bunch, Tobin did some good things before his winner too but it was a decent performance all round. We probably should've tested the keeper a bit more but the commitment couldn't be faulted.

Good atmosphere down there, plenty of friends and families getting behind the boys but always showing respect to the Burton players. I'd forgotten all the emotion of sport at that age, a woman by me couldn't stop crying at the end. I was crying too but that was only because I'd got my foot caught in the seat in front.

Plenty of heartache ahead for a lot of those boys but they won't forget tonight in a hurry, a great occasion for everyone involved.

Sounds like a special night. Tears all round (for various reasons 😁).
A link to a picture of the presentation has already been posted on the other thread about this, but they've tweeted a video of it now too:

Mike - you might like to combine the threads?

I think he's been on the bench for the u18s previously

Yes, you mentioned it at the time. QPR away. King played for the u-18s when he was 15, Ashford at 14 so he's in good company. He wasn't perfect yesterday but he stood out. I was surprised to find he wasn't captain as he seemed to be taking charge of things and leading by example. He should've won it himself but just missed from a tightish angle having rounded the keeper at 1-1. I assume he'll be moving up to the u-18s next season, it'll be interesting to see how he develops from here.

Good on the boys, always a pleasure to see a City side lift some silverware.

Obviously its slightly bittersweet these days, as instead of looking forward to seeing some of these lads in the first team in the next few years, your wondering how long it will be until they sign contracts with Man City / United.
