think this might receive a backlash from most fans around the world !

It's no big deal, we play nearly half of our games ABROAD!

As a season ticket holder, I’m happy for away games to be played abroad but if a home game is played in Dallas… they owe me one, plus I could miss the best game of the season….

All about money, as usual. No consideration for fans...as usual!

Well, inevitably it's got to be a home game for one of the clubs.
          Your point is very valid.

            Re: Globalisation

I don't agree with it. I can though see the benefit from the leagues perspective and once one does it others will want to follow.

I don't think I would support it at all. The only way I could is if it was coupled with The FA or Premier League tying it to another of other initiatives, requiring clubs to offer £30 tickets to home fans for every game, a requirement to offer standing accommodation, continuation of the £30 away ticket cap, subsidised travel for away fans etcetera.

That won't happen of course and as such I would never support games abroad. Football belongs to the fans in my opinion

Don’t like the idea, but can’t help thinking that it’s an inevitability when you see what happens in other team sports.

Arsenal v Man City, Premier title decider and Arsenal have to give up home advantage !

                I think not !

                  Will it ever happen?

                    What’s the end goal?

Let’s park the fans at the moment as it’s clear the league doesn’t give a shit about them.

For the teams, jet lagged on a very important game. Lack of momentum and can potentially swing results.

If it’s to grow the global game, it only plays into the hands of the Super League.

                      Re: Globalisation

I don't care, I doubt it will happen. Maybe the opening game of the season but who is going to give up home advantage? Brentford vs Ipswich isn't going to get New Yorkers salivating for the Premier League either.

I think the owners will want it and that's about it. The major leagues are popular anyway, so it isn't raising the profile. For the genuine fans its shrinkflation baby, an 18 game home ticket, but i think the big boys are looking to get retire season tickets in favour of membership pay-as-you-go tickets where the higher profile games mean.....higher ticket prices.

It won't affect me, but the quicker the big boys back themselves and set up the world superleague the better. It will fail as they don't "get" supporting a football club.

It’ll end up like the Egg, people going for the occasion not the “GAME”

Can just see all the “save the planet” types, blockading the airports :hehe:

Yeah I know, I watch the NFL but they are American closed-shop franchises that don't replicate in the biggest game in the world.

The NFL, MLB & NBA are trying to widen the appeal of their game, its an untapped market. Could the UK or Germany adopt a franchise and extend the reach of their game is the main driver.
The premier league, La Liga, Bundesliga or Seria A are established TV markets, is the odd game going to do much?

Would Patrick Mahomes be even recognised walking down Regents Street whereas could Ronaldo, Messi or Mbappe walk down Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, and not be mobbed?

Anyway, I immediately thought of America because it's always about the money, but it needs to be the Middle East as they can play a game in Qatar, Saudi, and Dubai just for the hell of it.

Unless Vinny is muckers with the Sultan of Brunei I don't think we need to worry though

The Philadephia Eagles are playing their "home opener" of the NFL season against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil and neither team is allowed to wear green! Ridiculous.
