Re: Ross Stewart
Another one for the injury table
During Southampton's 1–1 draw with Huddersfield Town on 25 November 2023, Stewart picked up an injury, with manager Russell Martin later confirming he was expected to be sidelined until late January.[17][18] On 22 December 2023, it was confirmed that the injury to his hamstring would rule Stewart out for the rest of the season.[19] Stewart returned from injury in a 1–2 victory against Leeds United on the final day of the 2023–24 season, replacing Adam Armstrong in the 83rd minute.[20]

Re: Ross Stewart
Indeed, and having made a "big money" move just a year ago I'd have thought he's been well rewarded for spending a season in the treatment room. I'd suggest far too risky and expensive as a transfer rather than loan.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI hope we're only looking to loan him.

We probably need to speculate a little to get players of a higher calibre.

Re: Ross Stewart
Birmingham City have entered the race for Brighton midfielder Marc Leonard.
It’s understood initial contact has been made.
Birmingham face stiff competition for Leonard, with Cardiff City and Oxford United also interested
seen this one from 2 different sources

Ralls - yesOriginally posted by Cleve van Leef View PostBut how many are Championship standard?
Wintle - Yes
Siopis - Yes
Ramsey - Yes if fit
Turnbull - Yeah probably
Rinomhota - Has played 183 games at championship level - although hasn't ever really clicked for us
Adams - Was excellent at L2 and at L1 level, unfortunately he's never had a chance to prove himself at Championship level due to a freak injury mostly.
Joel Colwill - Hopefully
Eli King - Hopefully
Leonard has had a good season at L1 level and is still young, is he any better than we already have? no idea

Re: Ross Stewart
70 goals in 170 first team games is hardly shabby. He had a serious hamstring injury last season but that is hardly a career ending situation is it ? He is still only 27 and has impressed every time I have seen him play on tv. Methinks some people are being a bit picky here. He us 6’2”, good in the air and strong on the ground. Worth a punt any day of the week.Originally posted by BLUETIT View PostAnother one for the injury table

Re: Ross Stewart
How many of those would you have in a side looking at getting into the playoffs? Ralls - ok as back up. Wintle - bench player. Siopis - no. Ramsey - of course but only if he's fit. Turnbull - not seen enough yet. Rinomhota - no. Adams - no. Joel Colwill - not yet. Eli King - not yet.Originally posted by Rjk View PostRalls - yes

The last two are very much players for the future. If our ambition is mid-table next season I see no reason to use them both quite often and give them game time. If our ambition is greater, then they'd be more of a risk, but there isn't anyone in that list who strikes me as being good enough for a playoff charge, bar Ralls and Ramsey. Either way, I'd accept bids for Wintle, Siopis, Adams, Rinomhota and Turnbull and bring in fresh faces, but I doubt any Championship sides aiming for a top 6 finish would be even the slightest bit interested in any of them. They might be Championship standard, but they're very average at this level.
