I think OGS made more though.

This would be an unbelieveable signing for us - won't believe it until he's here though.

Anwar El Ghazi is having a medical at Cardiff today ahead of signing a one-year deal. Player has already travelled.

Has a top track record on the pitch and should add some much-needed goals from the wide area

No denying City are having a go this summer if this one comes off. Get a quality midfielder who’s good at the things we lack in and we could be top six challengers.

Couple more signings of this quality and I might start believing in a plucky eighth finish.

Thought that was a bit low, but I could understand it at the end of last season. Think the signings of Willock and Chambers were a sign that this summer could be different from the last two, but, even if El Ghazi signs, we still look an unbalanced squad, bring in a Jotdon Mutch type midfielder though and we could be a contender.

I think we'll do OK with those three (if he signs) Kanga, O'Dowda back, Ramsey (if he stays fit and is rested) playing further back, and the premier loans it will be promising!

Looks like a definite strategy this window to spend on salaries rather than fees. Probably quite shrewd.

I read a book once - Money and Soccer: A Soccernomics Guide: Why Chievo Verona, Unterhaching, and Scunthorpe United Will Never Win the Champions League, Why Manchester ... and Manchester United Cannot Be Stopped.

The authors say "spending on players’ wages is a better predictor of football clubs league position than net spending on transfers."

They're much smarter than me so I'll take their word/research for it.

I personally believe we should give the whole team a 100% pay increase and win the league before Christmas.

They learned from last years transfer ban I think, something good came of it (even though it was a disadvantage, before the stalker replies)

a couple of seasons ago, when we were grappling with dismantling the mess that Warnock had left us with there was a statement by the club that we would only pay a fee for players who's value could increase, and I think we have largely stuck to that since.
we've paid money for players like Ng, Wintle, McGuiness, Etete etc and picked up a lot of players on a free (helped of course by the transfer embargo).

it makes sense as a strategy
