Won throughout their career but was an Everton footballer.

Yes, you're right, but I had to double check. He won 120 caps for England.

My source, which is usually beyond question, gave me a different answer, which would have been Pat Jennings. He made 119 caps for Northern Ireland but signed for Everton as cover at the end of the 1985/86 season for the FA cup semi final and final. He was without a club and wanted to keep himself fit for the World Cup in Mexico. He never played for Everton but, until Rooney, was their most capped player.
