Here's one - If you had the option (and I guess to make this one work you need to think of him as being a different nationality?), would you want him in charge of Wales, or City?
    Yes.

he has some strengths - good motivator and building team spirit.
doesn't appear to know how to coach an effective attack out of a very talented bunch of players

Apart from Euro 2020, when they beat Croatia and Germany. And 2024, when they beat the Netherlands.

You say Southgate is overrated. By who?

He has plenty of supporters in the media and ex-players. None more so than his mate Stuart Pearce.

Most England fans reckon they got to the final despite him. Not rated by many know. Before during or after the tournament. And I live in Ipswich

I mean avoiding Germany , Netherlands , Portugal , Italy etc they had the luck of der oirish ! ☘

Their one true test .......goodnight , go home

That being said Southgate is a decent man and no manager will make a good side a world beater
I'd argue that beating the Netherlands in the semi-final was a test.

He has done very well , much more successful that some of the bigger gobby managers . true gent .

No doubt Southgate's had plenty of support and that's not surprising given his achievements by comparison to the England managers who went before him, but I've never had the feeling that he's been especially highly rated.

The Netherlands are currently rated 7th in the FIFA rankings - above Spain.

                              Strange but true.
