Firstly it’s down to money of course. As the article says on average clubs aren’t playing more game currently, but they are travelling all over the world to play money making friendlies. Secondly was there this outcry about the changes to the champions league which will increase the number of games?
Is anyone that interested in a club World Cup really or is just FIFA looking to make more money?

They have a point but when most top clubs go around the world for pre season and some even have end of season tours I can't take their interest in player welfare seriously.

Both money grubbing sets of wankers, FIFA would have a World Cup in the desert in Saudi every 6 months if they could get away with it. Neither side really cares about player welfare.

For the future of football (or at least those of us who aren’t a plastic fan of one of the big 6) it’s probably a better thing if the clubs don’t get entirely their way here, even though they will probably win in court. Would open the door to the big clubs binning off whatever competition they like if there’s more money to be made playing elsewhere, and also clubs probably looking to refuse to release players for internationals.

I agree. I also think the 32 club World Cup idea is bollox, so in summary they're both idiots.

The only way to limit player workload is to limit the number of games they can play per season including set summer break, set summer tournaments and set pre season periods perhaps with different quotas for internationals vs non internationals

Anything else will be filled by exhibition matches as clubs are hypocrites
