Great club, great city, great fans and a great stadium. Very sad.

I went for the first time in 2010 and I’ve always had a soft spot for them since which grew stronger in 2016.

I did notice they got relegated from the top flight but didn't know about this. Very big club, champions not that long ago I think.

Best supported rugby club in Europe in Bordeaux too.

When this is happening to big clubs it's time to admit football has a major problem

Although I agree with you entirely on footballs problems, it's nothing new for it to happen to big clubs really. The greater the sums involved the greater the risk etc. Bordeaux latest in a line of clubs over many years including before the satellite TV/champions league big bang of the early 90s

That is sad and poignant for me. I went there when I followed Lyon for the first game of the season many moons ago when I lived in France.

The irony is, that the more money 'ploughed' into the top of football, the poorer these clubs become. Everton now £1 billion, and 'well-run' Brighton, the model for all clubs, £300million in debt.
