  • Temu - Website - Has anyone purchased from them?

It's like a Chinese Aldi middle aisle online direct from China.

I succumbed, be careful with the sizes, I added some drill bits to a pile of rubbish order for a free toolset, they are tiny and a a spirit level is the same :hehe:

It's cheap and a bit of fun when the parcel arrives I suppose!

Has anyone got anything decent that they would recommend?

I've bought some good cheap knock off Lego kits from (Rod Hull and) Temu. And a few nice retro looking tin signs for my garage. Not sure I'd want anything that you'd want to rely on (car parts, electrics, pacemakers etc) but for some stuff it's pretty good

they are often cheap crap, but you see the same items on amazon / eBay for alot more money

people did have issues with giving them bank details, but thats overcome by using apple pay / google pay as you then just give them a one use only token ( which is spent as you have spent it )

the best part of Temu is when you have made a few orders, you can " return " items ( under £10 ) and they just refund without the need to return, after a load of free items, they want you to return a item, return it ( its free ) and it appears to reset the " no return process " the reason for returning can be a smashed outside box ( they always are, as they come in a bag ) or just poor quality

as above, I wouldnt want to rely on stuff being great, car parts etc etc, but for low key items ( all 3 of my pizza paddles are temu, the 2 launch paddles are decent, the turning paddle is a little lightweight but still works ) the outside string of lights around my mancave, £9 each string, 3 linked together, the exact same lights in amazon were £26 each

as I said, use Apple Pay and your safe, the app is decent, put stuff in the basket, wait a while and you will get a message to say its been reduced, but many dont care about that as it might be free

I wouldn't buy anything from them due to their use of forced labour. Hence why it's so cheap.

Steve Morrison used that site for his transfer dealings

isnt that the same for alot of things from China though, Temu is only the portal that sells stuff from factories / Chinese companies

I've used Temu, lots of utter crap on there
AliExpress, has more of a range of quality.
              dhgate for clothes

Taobao is usually the cheapest and what is used more in China apparently.

I've also bought some things from Alibaba, where you can buy directly from the factory in many cases. sometimes they have a high MOQ though.

On top of the shipping subsidies that Chinese companies already enjoy for still having the status of being a developing country (haha), they're also massively subsidised by the Chinese government.

Their ultimate goal is to try and bring down Amazon.

People, I work with use it. I don't fancy it. At least with Amazon you get free returns.

Do you have Target over there? There's a Target store less than 2 miles from my house. But my wife shops online. I don't know what their cut-off is, but if you buy certain things and want to return/echange them they just tell you to forget about it and send you a new one. It never occurred to me before but if you have two kids that a year apart: Pretty good scam. I bet you, Scousers have been on to this for years.

I knew a bloke from Liverpool, that once got a bus ticket to Birmingham and got travel insurance for about £1.50. He got to Birmingham went straight to the cop shop and told them all his stuff got nicked. He claimed he was moving there for work. He made enough money on the insurance to pay for Christmas for his family of four.

                          .
No Target here, Walmart did buy / merge with Asda, but they I think have parted company now

Free returns with Temu aswell, well one free per order, but as I said above, under £10, keep it and get a refund

Miimum order £15, so you could buy something £9.99 and £5.01 and get the £9.99 back each time?
