What non-Welsh speaking person is going to pay £25 entry. What a way to expand the Welsh language.

You would hope that there would be concessions. You are right though, events with kids in tow are very expensive.

Go every year. A load of us went up there. Fantastic day out, celebrating the unique culture of these lands. Enjoyed by Cymros and monoglots alike.

What non Cardiff City fan is going to pay £29 to watch a 12:30 kick off this Saturday which is on the tele?

What a way to increase the crowd.

Been tickets given out within RCT to families who may wouldn't be able to afford the costs.

Lots, as it happens. Mrs HaB has been a steward and clerk throughout the week there and there have been lots attending who can't speak Welsh. You can enjoy most of what goes on without needing to speak the language. The main pavilion and a few other places have simultaneous translation available through headsets. I'm in charge of a choir that's competing there later in the week and none of us speak Welsh but wanted to do it because it was local to us.

Sadly I've seen lots of people moaning about it on social media. Probably the same morons who are the first to complain that nothing happens in Ponty.

The whole thing is pretty big and split into sections, there's a "children's village" section with stuff on for kids, the pavilion where they have the competitions going on, bands on the main stage, there's tents with discussions on, a learner's area, general stands with companies, charities, universities etc

They have a programme on the website: https://eisteddfod.wales/festival/2024/programme
