Tan has never been shy about sacking a manager, and I think we've got some decent players in the squad if we can play a system that isn't nonsense?

Sacking a manager a few months after giving him a two year contract is not a good look and we’re heading towards, to err once is human, to err twice is stupid territory.

When there was no news in the Summer I had some hope despite the idiotic press trying their best to get him the new contract. Before that you had the ‘we want you to stay’ crowd even after shipping 5 at Rotherham. That was the chance to get rid. What possessed Tan to keep him?

Are you right with that stat? We were damn good side at the end of the 60s under Jimmy Scoular.

Unless we get rid of Bulut we are going down, and going down as the bottom side. Dyche isn't going last much longer at Everton. When he gets the sack we should snap him up!

I used the end of the 60s a bit liberally, but in 39 games between December 1965 and October 1966 we conceded 103 goals and lost 22 times.

The 1960s weren't a great decade for us. We started it in the First Division, lasted just 2 seasons and went down. Between 1964 and 1968 we finished in the bottom half of the Second Division 5 times, narrowly avoiding relegation twice. 1969-71 saw 3 seasons in the top half and one close promotion campaign in particular, then 4 seasons in the bottom half again and relegation to the third tier in 1975.

It makes me wonder if we weren't that keen on giving him a big contract extension but eventually buckled and gave in.

Ahhh, you should have said the mid-60s then. I didn't start going down until October '68, so those games were just before my time. Those formative years for me '68-71, were great times to be a City fan (apart from the selling of Tosh, obviously)

I know it’s an exaggeration, but about half of those 103 goals must have been conceded in that short spell of games when we had Lyn Davies in goals.

I’d be amazed if we don’t end up in league one. We won’t be saved by other poor teams this season, there are some bad teams but apart from one or two all are much better than us

Hmm.

Umm, well I did think we played well on Wednesday. I also think we are better than the table suggests and we have played three of the top seven teams (or perhaps they are only doing well cos they have played us?). We have also made, in my opinion, decent signings.

I am struggling mind. And there's two very rough games to come..

It's all very good. Tan sacking the guy but unless he learns his lessons we will just end up with another crap manager.

A real cause for optimism are the signings of Daland, Fish, Robertson and Simic. Highly rated youngsters with room to improve and potential re-sale value.

On the pitch we're clearly trying to press high and be more positive but at the moment a severe lack of pace and Bulut's pig headedness is killing us.
