A real cause for optimism are the signings of Daland, Fish, Robertson and Simic. Highly rated youngsters with room to improve and potential re-sale value.

On the pitch we're clearly trying to press high and be more positive but at the moment a severe lack of pace and Bulut's pig headedness is killing us.

Ramsey has played 90 minutes a few times without getting injured.

(Unfortunately he's the main reason our midfield is useless, he's too slow and seems to have lost the ability to pass or to tackle without giving a foul away. But I understand why the manager wants him in the team as a senior player. However, as of now I would hope the manager will see that the bench is the place is for him. I am not holding my breath.)

So perhaps the optimism thread wasn't the right one for this post....

I can't see Bulut dropping Ramsey, he'll pick up an injury for convenience. His legs have gone, and when that happens it doesn't matter what the brain tells you. In a way, it's sad to see, from what i have seen of him the pace is too much and he just can't do what he could before.

It's all very good. Tan sacking the guy but unless he learns his lessons we will just end up with another crap manager.

And it’s his turn to pick the new manager again.

Yes, we’ve played the teams who finished 8th, 14th and 16th in the Championship last season, and the side who finished 19th in the Premier League. Starts don’t come any tougher than that…

They’re top, Jimmy. Had pretty much a free hit in their opening game. They played a team that can’t score goals and can’t defend.

When there was no news in the Summer I had some hope despite the idiotic press trying their best to get him the new contract. Before that you had the ‘we want you to stay’ crowd even after shipping 5 at Rotherham. That was the chance to get rid. What possessed Tan to keep him?

They still had Jack Clark then, now sold to Ipswich for £15-£20Million.

Yes of course it's only the goals that matter :thumbup: and I can't argue that we can't score or defend well against the better teams.

Yes of course it's only the goals that matter :thumbup: and I can't argue that we can't score or defend well against the better teams.

We're in a long spell where we can't win by more than one, we don't lose by less than two and we've scored one and conceded ten this season - what would you be saying about another team with a record like that? I've not been that impressed by the three teams that have beaten us so far, yet we've lost those games by an average of 3-0.

The manager himself is saying his squad lacks pace and we were being told in the spring that we needed two strikers - we got one and he is really struggling. I look at our team and think that on paper we should be higher than we are, but the level of performance and the trend of results since November says that we're a bottom three side despite our manager being given a budget which I think should be big enough to keep us out of relegation trouble - the problem is I don't see how anyone can deny that Bulut is a worse City manager now than he was in the first third of last season.

He either isn’t up to being a successful manager in the Championship, or he’s that stubborn and stupid that he thinks he’s way is eventually going to work, whereas all the evidence points to the contrary.

Why he was given another contract is beyond me, I think it’s just a matter of time as to when, rather than if he goes!

He just hasn’t adapted to what’s required

they won't all make it, but we haven't had as many young players who look like they could either do a job for us or get sold for a decent amount of money for a long time.

It's worrying I think a Warnock type in his prime would turn our form around in two weeks, back to basics stop leaking goals, then work from there but can Bulut, so far it seems not.
