Correct, only the good players had that awareness though 😂👍Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostWe would sometimes play with 15 or more a-side on a Sunday afternoon, no one needed to take off their shirt, we seemed to instinctively know who was on our side.

We used to ply in Glantaf field on a sunday and like you often had 15 or more a side. People just turned up and joined in. Never a need for skins, you just knew!!!Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostWe would sometimes play with 15 or more a-side on a Sunday afternoon, no one needed to take off their shirt, we seemed to instinctively know who was on our side.

Maybe I'm a bit older than you, I'm not sure? However, we used to play at the 'Barracks' on Gabalfa Avenue.Originally posted by xsnaggle View PostWe used to ply in Glantaf field on a sunday and like you often had 15 or more a side. In those days, there was no chain-link fencing or security gate (as there is now) you just walked off the pavement between the trees, into the grass area, and played for hours. We were all naturally fit, hardly a fat kid between us. Kanga wouldn't have survived in our era.
Oh, and no Karens to move us on either :hehe:

If numbers were really low, we'd play on the roundabout at the junction of Gabalfa Avenue and College Road.
It (conveniently) had a tree at either end, you just needed to put down a jumper (poetic licence :hehe:) to form the goals.
