  • O/T iPhone help - need a guru please

I have a 10 month old new iPhone with a new number after I had transferred some contacts and icons across from old phone - I do not have access to the old phone/old phone number.

Slowly but surely the apps need updating and I cannot update them as the two factor authentication process sends the ID codes to the old number.

I have tried Apple support they appear to try to help but in reality they have not fixed the issue.

    Any ideas please?

    TIA.

Go into Apple Store in Cardiff, they’ll point you in the right direction.

Hi mate, tried that they do not offer software support - only online support is an option

Do you know your Apple I.D ? If so , log in on a laptop and it will give you a list of the phones on the Apple Account ,I’m sure you can highlight the phone you wish to use ?

          Have you tried:

Go to Settings > [your name] > Sign-In & Security, then tap Two-Factor Authentication.
Tap Edit (above the list of trusted phone numbers), then enter your device passcode when prompted.
          Do one of the following:
Add a number: Tap Add a Trusted Phone Number, then enter the phone number.
Remove a number: Tap next to the phone number.
When you’re finished making changes, tap Done.

This should work. You may need to find someone with an iPhone to act as a trusted device. It is definitely possible to do this as it's a common problem.

Many thanks I'll try that - does that do any settings changes to the second iPhone device - that was a concern of my son?
