Well I think that it is embarrassing that a current day manager can be so limited in his thinking that he actually thinks that this the best tactic available.

I also think that we have some pretty talented players such as Wilson and Ojo who can’t think that this tactic is a good use of their skill set.

And I’ll bet that their parent club don’t either.

Sky reported that Canos had ten shots at goal today. Perhaps it's time for the experiment of playing a midfielder at right-back to end.
It's probably time to consider how well protected he was by the right sided winger/midfielder as well.

A lot like Warnock, if in doubt go more and more defensive.

Not what Dalman promised us at all.

In fairness to Harris, we haven't got the players to do much differently.

He's the manager, he brought in most the offensive players. One thing Warnock did was get players out on loan and bring others in. Harris seemed far to slow.

Warnock pissed 30m up the wall. Harris has spent little over 2m, and that most of that was on Kieffer Moore.

                    Don’t think so.

Maybe you should read the post?

It is the best tactic available for the players in our team. We've won more games this season since we stopped trying to play possession football and started going direct and playing for set pieces.

The question then is whether this is the blueprint for forthcoming seasons or whether there's an intention to change it in the future? I'm critical of it from a short termism point of view where, going forward in terms of time, it's a tactic we should be moving away from, yet we're reverting back to it because it fits what we have now. At some point, there will need to be a shift in dynamic. I'd argue that now is that time as we're unlikely to get promoted this season with some of the crap we've seen.

What is the manger supposed to do? His job is to win games and we don't currently have a team to do that while playing possession football. We flirted with trying to play that way earlier in the season and the results almost cost Harris his job.

Have we ever played possession football?

According to whoscored.com we are joint third in the league for long balls played on average per game with 79. Warnock's gradually behind on 78 per game.

We are also ranked 19th in the league for average amount of short passes per game with 290.

We are 16th in relation to goals from open play with 10
We rank 1st for goals from set pieces.

We are 17th for possession per game with 47.7%. A whole 1.6% ahead of Warnock's Boro.

For those who suggest that we have moved that far from Warnock's style, the stats don't really suggest it. Or is it that Harris wasn't that different to Warnock to begin with? Again, the stats didn't suggest he was.

All these stats too are when Harris has supposedly tried to play football at stages during times this season. The short pass numbers and possession percentage would be even lower with more long balls. We would be near the top with long balls though. We're in the long ball play off places comfortably anyway though.

You'd do it mid-season with midfield options of Pack, Ralls, Vaulks and Bacuna in front of a Morrison and Nelson pairing?

Can you compare the first 13 games of the season (up to and including the defeat at Coventry) with the games since then?
