Re: Back to the third tier? How are we feeling

The inability to construct attacks and the lack of a finisher of any description means only one thing.

That year Warnock came in I think towards the end of October we were poor and with the transfer window shut I couldn't see him being able to turn it around.
Step forward free agents Sol Bamba and Junior Holiet and we were transformed from that Bristol City game onwards.

But F me that better happen fast because there is nothing on the field at the moment! How to take a mid-table side, add talented individuals and get horrendously worse.

Only a seismic change will turn this around.
This is exactly why I can't blame only Bulut. I think it's a fairly good squad of players who aren't doing anything at all. I am not buying the idea that we are the worst squad of individual players in the league one bit and I think a lot of fans in this league would look at our squad and laugh that city fans are saying that.

          The spine of the team.

Horvarth - now axed - Bulut signing - not good enough.

2 centre halves Goutas - bottom end Championship player at best - Bulut signing. Chambers - Bulut signing - been hopeless looks an awful signing.

Central midfield Ralls (not the player he was) Siopis Bulut signing works hard , poor passing cant create at all.

          CF - Kanga - useless.

In addition to Bulut and his tactics this is why we are heading down and probably tailed off at the bottom.

This is not a talented group. The hope is Robertson and a cb pairing of Fish and Daaland can come good and a new manager can get us enough points by the window so we can bring in a striker.

El Ghazi was a talent - is he now or is he way past it. Willock maybe can come good but is he better than Grant/Bowler. Can Tanner play consistently under a new manager?

It's going to be a huge ask keeping this squad which in my opinion is weak but not 1 point in 6 bad to stay up with them trained up and with the fitness levels of Bulutball.

We need a new manager now to stand any chance.

Yes, I think I'm at that point as well. Agreed about the Sala situation as well. It's sad to think that Tan holding out for the loot of potential compensation could be the main reason he's still at the club. One caller on Call Rob last night asked the question of what Tan gets from being our owner. Given the debt at the club and the amount he has to put in (to cover mostly his own mistakes), it can only be a narcissist thing.

I think it's simpler than that.

Nobody wants to buy the club.

Agreed. For me a season ticket holder living in North London beginning with yesterday’s game and having been following the City since 1963; I am not attending future games until Bulut goes or starts playing more attacking football or we get a new manager in who knows the meaning of attacking. Having seen numerous poor previous City teams in the past, I don’t ever recall my team playing such drab football. At least in the basement divisions the players tried hard and attacked in games when appropriate.

The price of the GWR train tickets from Paddington and their unreliability especially on the return journey makes it hardly worthwhile. Also, no longer is it any fun on the train with so many London/South East based fans seemingly having ceased their support for our team.

I disagree , there is plenty of talent there . The managers job is to get the best out of players not stifle their ability to perform.

The Southampton game showed there is young talent there.

Sadly I think they will be showcasing that talent in L1 next season.

If we go down, we will be there for years.
Yes we will win more , but not to the extent that teams will roll over. Furthermore many of the better players colwill etc will fly the nest. We haven't the spending power of a Birmingham, Wrexham or a recent Sunderland.

Ramsey is off with a needless injury suffered playing for Wales. He is meant to be our Crown Jewell so why let him play for Wales? I am tired of Wales and the general international programme expecting international quality players from all countries to play an unreasonable number of games each season. Does the Welsh FA pay Ramsey’s generous wages when he is injured playing for them - I think not! This is another reason that for the time being I will follow the City from home rather than the dismal day out going to games arriving home after 21:00 having left at 08:30 - and these times are only if the travel by train runs according to timetable! I am too old to put up with this!

I'm not being funny here, but you're the one who moved away from the area. Just saying.

True, but all clubs including City enjoy support from outside their area. I came to London for university at 18 and have lived here ever since apart from 2 years; but my support for my Cardiff City has never faded until now with the apparent lack of effort from our players.

Didn't you make a comment about "brave " away supporters when Sludge was waxing lyrical ?

I agree with whoever said it 100% , if we travel away its a choice , if we expect anything other than disappointment we will be disappointed.
On the odd day it goes right , (remember them?) its a bonus..

Away games, even home games, are 90 minutes in the middle of a good day out with mates. It was ever thus, I’ve learnt this over many years following the City, if you expect any other scenario you’re involved with the wrong football club.
