  • Previous Dodgy Subs

Any recollections of really bad sub decisions for us other than yesterday that blew games.

The only one I can think of is Kelvin Etuhu in the Play Off final.

With that though it was a forced sub due to injury and an attempt to keep playing 442.

However clearly the better option would have been Ross McCormack.

The Warnock one towards the end of our premier league campaign when he bought Rhys Healey on.

Warnock bringing on at the time a very inexperienced Rhys Healey away at Fulham when we were last in the Prem and desperately needed a win, instead of Bobby Reid who he later brought on at 1-0 down and had an instant impact. That has always stuck out as a truly diabolical substitution.

Lost us the match, no doubts about it. Etuhu was no more a target man than Miguel Commingues.

Perhaps he earned a few quid from Healey for it.

Forgot about the Healy one. Wasn't it because he had a long throw?

He was one of our Unique Sports Group players - does that ring a bell ?

That was the final nail as far as Warnock was concerned. Fulham were already down. We weren't (from memory). Still one of the worst matches he managed and is right up there with the 'look what yer coulda won' instead we ended up with the f*cking Bully Mug.

We had just regained hope after a great win away at Brighton. Morrison had a good header ruled out for pushing then Babel scored a worldie. As we chased the game almost everyone in the ground looked on in disbelief with the substitution. Fulham were almost on the beach but the choice of sub was ludicrous! The result sucked the life out of us and we looked dead kicking off against Palace.

Rhys Healey will now be remembered for two things - firstly being the dodgiest of dodgy substitutions and secondly the fact that, other than Gunnars he is the only player to feature in both our Premier League seasons
