I've had almost as many as one message asking me to look at Riza's stats after 6 games and where he stands against other City managers after their first 6 games, so here goes.
Riza has the 8th best record of all City managers after their first 6 games. Here are the top 10:
1 Curtis/Stitfall 5 0 1 24 11
2 Cork 4 2 0 17 5
3 Lawrence 4 2 0 15 5
4 Spiers 4 2 0 16 7
5 McCarthy 4 2 0 11 4
6 Mackay 4 1 1 14 9
7 Hibbitt (2nd spell) 3 2 1 10 4
8 Riza 3 2 1 10 5
9 Harris 3 2 1 11 9
10 Burrows (1st spell) 3 2 1 9 7
Selected other notable City managers include Bulut (12th), Warnock (13th), May (22nd), Dave Jones (25th), Durban (31st), Trollope (36th), Scoular (43rd). The list goes down to Len Ashurst's second spell at the bottom in 45th. I'll happily put up the full table if anyone is interested.
Only 6 City managers managed more wins in their opening 6 matches than Riza, while only 4 managers lost none of their first 6 games.
Only 8 managers had sides that scored more goals in their first 6 matches, ironically one of those was Erol Bulut! Mick McCarthy and Kenny Hibbitt (in his second spell) conceded fewer goals than Riza.
Riza is the first City manager to keep 4 clean sheets in his first 6 matches. He's only the third to win all 3 of his opening home games and only the second to keep clean sheets in all of those 3 wins (Alan Cork is the other). No City manager has yet won their first 4 games with a clean sheet in each, though Cork came the closest when his side thrashed Bristol Rovers 5-1 in the FA cup.
The longest unbeaten run at home achieved by a new manager is also held by Alan Cork. His side won 19 and drew 5 of his first 24 home games in all competitions. He won his first 10 home games, a run brought to a halt in a 1-1 draw with Crewe in the FA cup (see "Jason Bowen" and "famous City own goals"). His first home defeat came in his 25th home game, a 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield. Cork is currently ranked 2nd in terms of home results for us, though (I'm going off on a tangent here), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a better away win percentage than him...
