  • Turnbull Did Well Today

Misplaced pass for their goal but he kept at it

If we are playing with colwill and tanner then he and Robertson and one other will cover more of a defensive role

He's definitely got an eye for goal , had that one blistering shot today

Very neat and tidy player , hopefully allows colwill and Tanner to grab the limelight

Yes he was excellent today. No idea what was going on with him under Bulut but he now looks an accomplished championship midfielder

Him and Colwill were not at the races today but still created a few moments

I initially thought it was a bad pass from Turnbull. Watching it again though, I don’t think it was either bad or risky.
Speculative maybe and possibly Colwill could have showed for it more.
Neither to blame really is it wasn’t aimed imo in a dangerous part of the pitch.
Unfortunately it fell to a Norwich player who had a five yard pass to Sainz who hit a screamer from about 25 yards out.

I don’t think that you can’t mitigate for that if you want to play attacking football.
The alternative is passing it around the back without getting anywhere that we have witnessed too much of recently.

The screamer from the norwich number 7 took a deflection looking at tonight's hi lights ?

Not sure “not at the races” is fair, they were quieter than they have been recently and Colwill has to take some responsibility for their goal, but their partnership down the right played more of a part in the closing stages. It’s a big feather in the cap for the other players and Riza that we managed to win with Colwill and Tanner not at their best and Ng and Robertson absent.

I’ll look again when I get up in the morning.
It’s a welcome change recently to watch the extended highlights on a Sunday!

I’m not sure how anyone could describe them as being not at the races???

Norwich scored a fantastic goal, very impressive strike and nothing could be done about it.

Norwich had done their homework on Colwill and often doubling up on him to stop him playing, under those circumstances he played well and battled until the end.

Siopis came in and did a good job, but it’s obvious that both Colwill and Turnbull work better when Robertson is in midfield

It wasn’t a like for like replacement, Siopis is a totally different player than Robertson

Collectively as a team we fought until the last minute, if we had drawn against Norwich it would have still been an impressive team performance

Winning in such style where we kept attacking until the end says a lot more about the character of the team and the coach

Everyone played their part including Rinomhota who filled in well at RB

We may have rode our luck on a couple of occasions but the effort and performance was there for all to see, I can’t see how anyone could be singled out as not being at the races???

                      Re: Turnbull Did Well Today

I thought the fact that NG and Robertson were missing yesterday meant that Tanner and Colwill weren't as effective as normal. They overloaded our right hand side to great effect in the first half and Siopsis was a bit narrow for me which meant Tanner had to do a lot of tracking back and our rightback was badly exposed on times.

                          Re: Turnbull Did Well Today

Hardly a misplaced pass that led directly
to a goal. Knocked it into Colwill who could have done better to receive and protect the ball and not let the defender get in front of him. After that Goutas should have probably got out to Sainz quicker. Sometimes you just got to hold your hand up and give credit to the opposition. Defender was determined to win the ball and laid it off for a great strike from the best player on the pitch.

Either way, I’m not gong to knock Turnbull or Colwill for trying to get on the front foot and play forward. There are going to be times we lose the ball when trying to play between the lines and taking people of, that’s the risk and reward nature of the way we are now trying to play. It’s a million times better than the sideways, backwards pedestrian shit Bulut was trying to attempt.

Colwill and Tanner were not their usual threat yesterday

It was a poor pass into the middle and colwill was slow to it

                              The result was a goal
