Lyon have been handed a provisional relegation from Ligue 1 in France! They have also been handed a transfer ban and had their payroll taken control of! 😳

The DNCG, are responsible for overseeing the finances of all LFP clubs have announced the decision.

Lyon's debt has risen to over €500m!

Relegation will only occur at the end of the season if Lyon's finances are not in order by then.

A top European side who have been neglected and ruined by owners and once again it's the fans who will suffer. 🇫🇷

What's going on then, cos Bordeaux were dropped to (I think) the fourth tier in the summer.

Must be some kind of clamp down? Interestingly it comes as crowds in France have never been higher.

The TV deal fell through, the Ligue 1 board has made a right pig's ear of it and now everyone that isn't PSG are skint.

French club football is in dire straits at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me if more than one went under.
