  • Carl Bevan from 60ft Dolls

I don’t know if anyone on here knew Carl or not.
He lived in Cardiff probably 10 years or so before he died a few months ago.
In addition to his music he rekindled his love of art and had a few pop up galleries and a studio in Cardiff.
He was a good friend of mine.

There was a fund raising do in Newport last night which one of our other friends hosted.
    Robert/Bob Martin.

Bob has just started to do stand up (a long standing ambition of his) prompted by Carls sudden passing.
He is planning on doing some shows in South Wales next year, so I just wanted to put it out here if anybody is interested.
This is a piece that he wrote recently about Carl, which I found touching.

Very good article that, and yes talking is so important.

I have one of his paintings, and ‘Happy Shopper’ is one of my favourite tunes. Very talented, and a nice guy too.

              I’ve got one as well.

He was super talented and one of the wildest people I’ve met, while being hugely charming with it.

It is terribly young, but he had excessive tendencies :)
He had a book cover by Keith Moon framed on his Bathroom wall.
I’ve never seen a man consume so many narcotics and function so well.

It is, but it was a life crammed full with fun and laughter.

                        Nice tribute that.
I saw them once in Pontardawe Arts Centre, it was a great gig even if the venue was too small for the crowd that turned up.
I'll give a few of their old songs a play whilst I'm painting the bathroom today.
