It’s not just City, but why are clubs so reluctant to give their supporters the full situation about injuries these days? Using our game yesterday, I read and heard nothing beforehand to suggest Chambers and El Ghazi would be unavailable and, as as far as I’m aware, there’s been nothing yet to indicate what’s wrong with them. It’s not just a Riza thing at City, I first noticed it under Steve Morison’s management and it’s been the same since then.

To be honest I'd rather know why Kanga keeps getting selected rather than why those 2 are out.

His sub appearance yesterday was terrible. We badly needed him to at least hold the ball and he couldn't even do that. His only contribution was giving away a free kick in am attacking position for Sheff.

Why is he getting picked?

And that pass to him towards the end of the game which he missed completely, not even getting a touch on the ball. Worse is he makes no effort whatsoever, no attempt to close down players or get involved in the game, we play with 10 men once he comes on.

Maybe Kanga keeps getting picked in the squad because there seems to have been barely a game go by this season where we don't have about half a dozen players unavailable for some reason. I just think it's wrong that the first info most get as to who is availalble for a particular game is when the team sheet is published - it never used to be like that.

Before the match it could be to avoid giving your opponent too much information, but when the teams are announced they could tell us a bit more.

I assume that even after the match, they will be concerned about giving their next opponents too much information.

All seems a bit odd that they happily give updates on some players but not others.

They give updates on known ongoing injuries but not on new ones.

They’re not new injuries though if the two players concerned missed the last game a fortnight earlier are they.

I’ll tell you one thing for nothing as well, we used to win far more games when our attitude to injuries was open and transparent than we do now with all of this pointless secrecy.

I read this too. Football games can be won or lost by the finest of margins. Points dropped can mean jobs lost. (See Steve Cooper) I don't blame the manager for using every tactic available to gain any possible advantage.
