ive always thought Meite was a confidence player - if he can follow up this performance with another there's no reason he couldn't go on a bit of a run
Remember Zohore’s one that bobbled in at Southampton? “I’m back”……when’s he arriving?:xmashehe:
I just looked him up to see where he is now. After leaving West Brom in 2023 he made five sub appearances for Odense in the Danish League (0 goals), then signed a 2-year deal with Slask Wroclaw in Poland (8 sub appearances, 0 goals). His contract was terminated in March and he's been without a club since. Still only 30.
As for Meite, if he thinks 3 goals in 52 appearances is good enough, then all the power to him.

While his time with us has been disappointing so far, I think he is a fantastic character to have around. While there has to be some self-reflection from Meite, we are not a club which has been very conducive for forward players for some years. Few strikers thrive here. We are an attackers graveyard. Our problems are deeper than individual strikers. I think criticism of our club and players is justified but when fans go on social media personally abusing players and tagging them in their posts, they can't complain when players have a go back.

yeah he seems like a big personality to have in the dressing room - always in the middle of celebrations etc.

Indeed  a great senior pro, the youngsters look upto him, he is a big positive influence at the club
Saw a Tweet by Kieran Evans defending Meite this morning and I think he is a popular member of the dressing room who, from videos I’ve seen of him on the club website, seems to be one of those who tries to keep spirits up. However, while there is still time for him to turn things around, we’re now getting to the three quarters stage of his contract and I don’t see how a case can be made for saying he’s been a good signing for us.

I wish he’d concentrate more on getting the fans’ spirits up.

I think it's pretty obvious what's happening here and we've all missed the point. How many times have we said Meite and Kanga shouldn't be playing? Meite's upset we are saying he's as bad as Kanga, that's it!
Let's be honest, if you had to choose one, it's Meite everytime!
