  • Meite's goal on Saturday

There's understandably been lots of talk about Coventry's penalty on Saturday, but no real mention of City's first goal.

Was Callum O'Dowda in an offside position in front of the Coventry keeper? I'm pretty sure if that goal had been scored in the Premier League and had gone to VAR, it would have been disallowed.

Don’t say that. Hailleys comet will probably come round quicker than his next goal!

Yes I thought that, the ref was still worse to us overall but we got away with one there.

The Coventry keeper claimed it, but the rest of the defence didn't. I think that helped.

O'Dowda was definitely in the keeper's eyeline (he even got out of the way of the ball). The only question is whether he was in front of the last defender when the header came in. It's very marginal, but having seen the replays I suspect VAR would have ruled it out.

Would have taken 10 minutes while we could have nipped off for a piss but you’re probably correct that it would have been chalked off.
