You're popping it at every opportunity Matt. It's obvious what your views are and that's fine, good luck to you, I wouldn't contest them because I respect the fact that everyone can have their own thoughts and opinions, even if I don't agree. But you're indirectly mocking people who don't share your thoughts.

It’s happened on both sides of every argument as it affects the overall outcome of the both sides.

I saw the video earlier of the City fan still wearing red. I think he probably embodies what the majority of fans, who are still around, thought of the rebrand.
I wish him well. Incredible to be supporting this club for so many years.

You’re supposed to be a moderator - certain responsibilities come with that job. An awful long time ago on here, I was a moderator for a short time, but soon gave it up because it became clear I was temperamentally ill suited for the role as I let my biases effect my decision making. You’ve been a moderator for years on here and you’ve been showing your biases as a matter of course during that time - I find that very odd and inappropriate, but, maybe that’s down to me expecting certain standards from moderators that are too strict.

Anyway, the fact that the club has admitted on their website that their response to the FAB open letter “could have toned down the language” makes your continued support for it look a bit daft. It’s probably as close as this lot will get to an apology and yet here you are, still defending what they said despite them admitting that they could have worded their response better.

Apart from what seems a pretty small minority on here and elsewhere, there seems to be general agreement on social media that the club’s response to the open letter came over as petty, ill judged and inappropriate— I’ve not been backwards in coming forward in making my feelings on it clear, something I would have been less prepared to do if I were still a moderator, you on the other hand……………

now for the moderating bit, Ive always taken that im a member of this community that just can edit / delete posts that are abusive / racist / offensive / unsuitable / reported etc etc, which is exactly what I have attempted to do, it sounds like you want me to come on here, read all the posts, not contribute to the board, basically you want me to just read everything and delete posts, thats a pretty grim ask

in all the years of running ( admin ) or Moderating MB's I have always had the above opinion, Ive been admin on a number of high bandwidth MB's, when we asked if members wanted to help out and be a Moderator, I used to say " it takes a strong character who is ready to be criticised by a very small % for volunteering to help a MB run smoothly, as you have pointed out, Ive done it here for years now, you on the other hand ...........

I was honest with myself and admitted it wasn’t for me. I think coming on here and trying to take the piss out of posters like you did earlier in this thread is not on for a moderator - Mike gets the moderating job just right, I didn’t and I don’t think you do.

I thought you gave a reasonable explanation of how you see your role as a moderator. I don't think many people would disagree that you shouldn't be neutered from your opinions.

The thing with Jimmy's post was he was arguing his opinion and people could have either supported or argued against that view. A wise moderator would have let that exchange play out or even give a considered supportive opinion yourself.

Instead you thought the best course of action was a line you have used a number of times before of the, "this will really piss off the x he he" variety.

Regardless of how well your "sense of humour" reads across to people you know well, my guess is that you had a pretty good idea of what you are doing when you got out the petrol can!

So did you do anything to actively oppose to the reband, or did you just unhappily put up with it?

The course of this club changed forever when Tan gave his ultimatum, and the first casualty was the togetherness of the fan base.

We obviously had disagreements prior to Tan, but nothing like the vitriol we witness to this day.

…and the hottest topic that stirs up the most poisonous, insidious sniping? Whether you do or don’t criticise Tan’s (lack of) plans for the club.

If his mission was “divide and conquer “ then he can consider himself a success.
