        Re: Simic

So we signed him after AC Milan had realised he wasn't worth it, and we paid a £2m fee!

Therefore, it must be a fact.

Yeah, god forbid we dig up all the players who have been all over this forum as close to signing over the years. Especially these days with social media and 24/7 sports “journalism”.

Google Sunderland and Simic. Plenty of articles linking the two. Nothing alleged about it.

I did. They spoke to him apparently. He was supposedly close to signing for them. But that's a little different to City beating Sunderland to his signature and him being their number one target.

No big deal, though. We signed him. He did nothing in Belgium. He scored just one goal in 2024. He's injured. Could be anything.

Yeah he could turn out to be anything, i'm a little surprised that people aren't more positive about the signing though.

This is a young striker that scored in last season's champion's league group stage - we can't have had many players to have done that over the years.

People were clamouring for Michael Reindorf to get in the team on the back of some performances in the Welsh League Cup, yet this guy has been ruled out by some because of a loan move to Belgium that never really got started.

He scored a penalty against Benfica. So he can score penalties.

We had a guy not so long ago who had scored a hat-trick against Bayern Munich, but that didn't work out in the end.

I can fully understand why people aren't getting excited about this guy just yet. He's a complete unknown, and the fact that he was farmed out on loan to Kortrijk when City needed a striker was very odd. He really could be anything.

As regards his injury, his manager at Kortrijk said: "It's a very strange injury to be honest. It's very complex and they are working on it constantly. He will definitely be out until January, that's for sure. It could even be longer."

                              Re: Simic

                              From Walesonline:

Roko Simic has been recalled from his loan spell at KV Kortrijk. He continues to recover from an injury following a dismal stint in Belgium in which he was afforded just four substitute appearances for the Vincent Tan-owned club. Not the sort of developmental move Cardiff were looking for.

It is understood that Cardiff are pretty relaxed about Simic's situation as things stand. Importantly, because of his age (21), he does not count towards the club's 25-man maximum player quota. It is likely Cardiff will take their time to assess their window and if sufficient striker options are available by the end of the month, they may countenance another loan for the Croatian forward.

I get the impression (not based on very much) that he was signed by the club without the manager being involved - then when Bulut didn't want to use him he was foisted onto Kortrijk who also didnt really want him.

None of that means he won't be good enough to make it. Hopefully the injury isn't too bad - strange there's been no real announcement of what it is.
