  • I love this.

Mary Tyler Moore accidentally nailed a trick shot in one take, in a 1962 episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" The trick shot by was actually made in one take. They had planned for a pool expert to make the shot after cutting away from showing her hitting the cue ball. But to https://t.co/44ytyXjJ8Q

Thanks for that, it's probably the best clip of Mary Tyler Moore and Dick van Dyke playing pool that I've seen on here. As the comments below say, as long as the balls are set up correctly she'd be doing well to mess it up but she's obviously very surprised she makes it and only just holds it together to finish the scene off. That's what Siopis is going to be like if he ever scores for us.

Yes, when I saw how the balls were lined up I thought it should happen, but I loved that they were both so surprised when she did it - must say as well that the way she played the shot suggests that it wasn't her first ever go at playing pool - although those balls all should have dropped, there would be plenty of pool novices who would have messed the shot up.

Just a quick point on Siopis and goalscoring, I see his sole goal in club football was a penalty, but the City website commentators are doing him a disservice when they talk of him only ever scoring once - he's also scored a goal for Greece.against Gibraltar just before he signed for us in 2023.

You need to have an account with UEFA to watch this apparently, but here's Siopis' only goal from open play in. his career - it's a good one as well.

She's also being filmed, in front of a live audience, and was no doubt in the studio for about 14 hours that day with the pressure of making sure that the show with her name on it got finished to a high standard.

I think she deserves a bit more credit than that.

I miss the days when everybody was skinny.

It wasn't a dig at her, she's beyond criticism surely? It was a clever way to end that episode and her reaction adds to it. I was just saying it's a simple 'trick' to pull off once it's been set up (you've got to hit the object ball from about a foot away, someone replies by saying their 4-year-old could do it) so I was wondering why she was so obviously surprised (and chuffed) that she'd done it. Did they not rehearse it?

It's a good piece of tv, thanks again to TOBW for posting it. I don't think I've ever used the words sweet and charming on here before (or needed to) but it's both.
