  • Tanner..

Great push on Darling for the third goal, created that little bit of space and effectively took Darling out of the game for that split second. What does everyone else think.....:hehe:

Yesterday some dimwit on here said that Tanner was a crap footballer.

He was impactful throughout the game. You only have to see the edited highlights to appreciate that.

Tanners reaction after was great as well.

A couple of times I noticed he was in no-mans land and Joe Ralls had to shout at him to get in the right position.
He may not have the most astute footballing brain, and wear the most ridiculously tiny shin pads, but he ran his heart out for 90 mins and made an impact.

He celebrated right in Darling’s face immediately after the goal as well Dennis if you look.

            Brilliantly petulant :-)

It was me that said it and I stand by it.

I think he's had a good few games and yesterday was one of them - hopefully more to come.

What percentage of games does a player need to be crap in order to actually be crap?

Great, giving it back to Darling for once, he’s lorded it over our players enough times

Darling seemed very subdued yesterday. The previous few games he had been holding and diving at the slightest touch most of the time.

                        Re: Tanner..

He is strong, direct, raw and he'll probably always be that.

I don't think he fits a 4231, he is an inverted wide forward in a 433. When I look at Ashford with all that good coaching and natural attributes they are chalk and cheese.

I love the lad though, he is living the dream and i want to see him continually improve. His fitness has improved, he doesn't possess any passing ability at all though, and that's why he can't play in that attacking midfield role. Run, cut in, and shoot; inevitably it's on target

He makes things happen, I rate him. He's got a streak as well, I like that.

He needs to be polished but he's got something

I couldn't disagree with you more, he's at his best when him and Colwill play together (and when Tanner is on the right)

The desire he showed to bravely go in at full stretch to provide Robertson with a glorious chance to score a first goal summed up the team's performance. He never shirked a challenge.

Remember he's come up quite a few tiers to be a regular in the 1st team squad, starting in 23 of the 27 matches this season. The other 4 he was injured.
