They've been pretty unlucky to have Tom Cannon recalled from his loan. their top scorer and a very good young striker at this level.
if they don't replace him well then they'll probably be dragged right into the relegation battle.

Coming at the same time their latest accounts showed their wage bill last season was £34.4 million, it's a good job their owner is willing and able to pump money in continually.

I didn't realise he was a loan signing. Good for us then that he's gone back.
Who did they loan him from?

From Leicester, who bought him for €8m from Everton last season. Speculation seems to be that Leicester have recalled him to sell him on a permanent basis this transfer window, rather than to play him. Looking for £12-15m

The young lad who replaced him scored against West Brom on Saturday, and he also bagged 18 goals in 30 games while on loan at Walsall before his loan recall.

I think their owners are pretty unique in the UK, as the Coates family, Bet365, own & control every aspect of the club, unlike many absent owners.

"It's bet365 effectively acting like the bank of mum and dad and acknowledging that the money that was owed by the football club, which at one stage was over a quarter of a billion pounds, is never going to be repaid and they are just doing some tidying up," football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Stoke tended to break even when they were in the Premier League but in the last few years, they've been losing £500,000, £600,000 a week and those costs have effectively been absorbed by the Coates family."

It's a bit of a step-up from League Two and I could see them trying for another loan deal if they are not financially constrained.
