Re: We've got a Peruvian international
I've got this theory that Perry Ng's recent trips around the world for Singapore squad sessions (without actually playing!), is a big contribution to his recent drop in form. I could be wrong, but I don't think flying back and fore to Peru is going to do Roberston much good either. Still, I guess if you get the chance to play international football, you can hardly say no. And it didn't do Brereton-Diaz any harm.

Peru is a shorter flight than Australia, I think.Originally posted by tforturton View PostI've got this theory that Perry Ng's recent trips around the world for Singapore squad sessions (without actually playing!), is a big contribution to his recent drop in form. Re: We've got a Peruvian international
Alex Robertson was born in Scotland in 2003 to an Australian father and Peruvian mother.Originally posted by tforturton View PostAustralia?
He moved to Australia aged 4 and lived there until he was 12. The family moved back to the UK in 2015 when Robertson got into the Manchester United Academy. He moved to Manchester City two years later.
He has played for Australia at u15 and u19; and played for England at u16, u17 and u18. He has got two senior Australia caps (both in friendlies). He has never represented either Scotland or Peru - although he is (or was) eligible for them as well.

Well, you learn something every day! What's the rules on this - could he play for Peru, or do the Australian friendlies rule him out?Originally posted by jon1959 View PostAlex Robertson was born in Scotland in 2003 to an Australian father and Peruvian mother.

Re: We've got a Peruvian international
Friendlies definitely don't count and haven't since forever. Since 2020 you are even allowed to change one time after 3 competitive games if they were before the age of 21, not in the finals of a major tournament and at least 3 years have passed since your last game.
So Robertson could definitely still turn out for Scotland and Peru at any point. For us Scotland would clearly be the best option, for travel and also because they are less likely to be in the finals of major tournaments in far flung places.
