He's been an absolute legend but your body tells you when it's time to retire.
Indeed. When Ramsey joined City his was an injury-prone 32 year-old. He’s now a perennially injured 34 year-old. I’ll be amazed if he’s got much left to give at this level. That didn’t look to be the case in the second half of last season or the early stages of this. He looked spent.

Wales will keep playing Ramsey out of loyalty until he chooses to retire from international football. Do you think he automatically gets in based on past glories or form from the last couple of seasons?

So for what reason do you think Ramsey will improve that stat?

              Because he's good at football.

Probably the 3 goals in 6 games at the start of last season including a screamer at Leicester

He's not the player he was, but I find the suggestion he wouldn't improve a squad that regularly turns to the likes of Yakou Meite laughable to be honest.

I don't think many of the clubs around us at the bottom of the division would be turning their noses up at the chance of getting a player if his calibre

In fairness, Meite isn't competition in centre midfield.

I get the whole Ramsey thing. You'd like to think he could tear up this division. But his best days are long gone, so we're hoping that his current level is above what we'd see from most players in the Championship. I think to suggest that he's still capable of being a top player in this division after spending most of the last 18 months recovering from injury is being a bit optimistic - it's only being based on past glories and hope. On paper he should have a lot to offer. On grass it might be a different story. We shall see. A fully fit Ramsey playing at 80% of the level he was at a couple of seasons ago would be a great player for us. One at 50% who isn't fully fit won't help us at all. We shouldn't make the mistake of thrusting him in asap just because of his name.
