Adams as a destructive defensive midfielder is surely no worse than Sio. Both have strengths, but big limitations.
I don't think either can pass - and Adams certainly has far more physicality and presence.
My concern with Adams when he was still with us was that he seemed to be a red card magnet in waiting. But that hasn't been a major problem for him at Derby.
Adams has got 4 goals so far this season. Sio.....?
The re-invention of Chambers has changed the discussion, though. And if Mannsverk arrives for the rest of the season Sio will be fighting for a bench place.

I can understand Bulut wanting some players that he knew in the squad - managers often do this, and Siopis also seems like a big character in the dressing room. but in hindsight I'd definitely agree
Gents, I agree with all the last three posts by Bob, Jon and RJK. Adams is better than Siopis, but not good enough. Bulut clearly brought in an ally in the changing room at the clubs expense. Politics!
I think Adams is a good player.
He was a top player in league 2 before we signed him, then he immediately had a freak injury. He played a handful of games for us after being out for a yearish and at a far higher level than he'd ever previously played - he did ok considering, then went on loan to league one and completely transformed Derby's season. Now he's having a good season in the championship in a pretty poor side.

My OP was prompted by him being instrumental in Derby's goal.
Never seen him move so fast. Mind you Cardiff's defence went AWOL.
Under Rizza I don't think he would have been allowed to leave. Whatever you think about him technically he was the main reason we struggled to impose our own game. That's why I'm hoping the new guy will give us the same around the park and is an improvement on what we've got.
