Had an e-mail from Jon on Tuesday asking me if I was having a problem using the board because he was unable to access it. I replied that it had been slow at times, but I wasn’t having any real problems with it and thought no more of it.

This morning there was another message from him telling me why he can’t get on here. Turns out, he’s on holiday in Thailand and this message board is banned over there! So, we won’t be hearing from Jon for a while - he said the reason for the ban might be the porn ads that appear on here, but I must have a very good ad blocker because I’ve never seen any.

I have no ad blockers on the go at the moment and I've never had any porn ads on here - i tend to get ads for the things I've been searching for....

This MB is the only site i know of that is banned at work, if i have a browse at lunchtime it has to be using mobile data on the phone.
edit: i dont browse porn sites at work so wouldn't know if its a porn ads issue!!. Thailand ? well well, I dont think i'd have disclosed that, i'll not mention it when he returns

I can access this website, but there are many forums that won't allow me based on my location. Being in China, I'm constantly having to use a VPN.

I'm sure it has been pointed out before, when someone complained about adverts for porn, that the adverts you see are based on your search history.

I'm inundated with ads for retirement flats and stairlifts. I can put up with those but the 'no-fuss cremations' ads are a tad depressing..

Not surprised it's banned in Thailand, Anyone remember a poster on here by the name of 'Markylicksthsis' or something similar? He used to post educational photos on here .... Ahem.... Cough.....

He's in Thailand and is seeing porn ads on here? I just hope he keeps a look-out for Adam's apples....
