Villa’s CL game is based on a draw from a hat isn’t it?

I’d imagine a League One game is more likely to be moved than UEFA bending the rules to ensure Villa play on the Wednesday.

I don't understand the negativity shown on here. If we're not prepared for any eventuality why enter the damn competition. We're playing one of the best teams in the country, we'll be getting a sizeable chunk of date receipts and offer a great day out for our travelling supporters.

For those bemoaning our luck, we hit the jackpot by drawing Barnsley in the FA Cup Semi Final resulting in a never to be forgotten experience of seeing my team in an FA Cup Final.

This is going to be a difficult one to schedule as City have stupidly arranged the Hull game for the Wednesday before this tie (that looked daft to me even before Saturday’s cup win).

You’d think that would rule the Friday out.

I'm not sure how much say we get in it. They weren't happy with the League forcing the Watford game to be played at home a few days before the Swansea game.

The Burnley league game (which has to be moved for Villa) has already been determined to rearranged to be played in the midweek after the Villa game, too.

EDIT: it won't be the Friday as you say, it'll be on the Saturday (and probably an excuse for a reduced away allocation due to Birmingham playing on Sky at 12.30 ) if Villa are playing CL following Tuesday or the Sunday if Villa are playing CL on the Wednesday.

I can’t understand why it’s on the Wednesday as opposed to the Tuesday. That doesn’t make sense looking at Cardiff or Hull’s fixtures and it’s not being televised, but even if they want to put it on Sky+ they could have done so on the Tuesday.

Yeah I presumed Hull were playing on the Sunday before, it seems a real odd choice.

Maybe it'll get moved to the Tuesday and then the Villa game will be pulled forward to the Friday then :hehe:..
