Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
In fairness to willock - not something I’ve been heard to say too often this season - I thought the 2nd pass Rambo made was just overhit so by the time willock reached it he was at the byline and therefore his only option was dragging it back into the middle rather than ‘picking his spot’.

Didn’t we draw with Bristol earlier in the year Bob? Are you referring to last seasons game at Aston Gate?Originally posted by the other bob wilson View Post

I’ll have to have a look at the video of the whole game on the club site to see whether I’m being harsh on Willock in that instances, but I’d still say my point counts because Ashford’s goal and assist rate per game has to be the best out of all the first team wingers at the club by some distance.Originally posted by Lord Worcester View PostIn fairness to willock - not something I’ve been heard to say too often this season - I thought the 2nd pass Rambo made was just overhit so by the time willock reached it he was at the byline and therefore his only option was dragging it back into the middle rather than ‘picking his spot’.

Yes, thanks for that. I knew the game I was referring to was last season and could have sworn I said that. I read what I type back twice before publishing it and didn’t spot that mistake either time - I’ve just corrected it.Originally posted by ninian opinian View PostDidn’t we draw with Bristol earlier in the year Bob? Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
Bob, would yo call Bagan, Ashford and Colwill youngsters now? Alves certainly is, although he's not our player and we didn't develop him. I wouldn't, and i don't think that iwould make the distinction between age and seniority. The three players i have mentioned are now bona fide championship footballers in their own right, that's what they have developed into, and comparing them with players who are older or more experienced doesn't really count for a great deal in my opinion, They're where they are because they're as good as or better than the players who are older, their age isn't really relevant anymore. Colwill has over 100 games and is theoretically a quarter of the way into his footballing career, he's almost 23, bagan is 23. A good piece, but i don't understand why these players ages are of importance, and i would bet that they feel the same way now.

Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
What I’d say to counter that is that Ashford was left out yesterday despite having far better scoring and assist rates than any of our other wingers -at twenty, I’d say he still qualifies as a youngster as well. It’s a fair point with Colwill and Bagan, especially the first named, but Bagan has been the one to make way very often this season despite putting up a pretty convincing case for being considered our best and most complete defender this season. Honestly, I’m struggling to come up with names of City defenders who have been better than him this season.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostBob, would yo call Bagan, Ashford and Colwill youngsters now? Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
Agree with your more general point on ashfords contributions - although I think Ollie tanner would run him close - but just specifically on that incident yesterday I did feel willock did all he could. (I bet Rambo was kicking himself a bit because he had not long completed the first one to ashford which was spot on perfect).Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI’ll have to have a look at the video of the whole game on the club site to see whether I’m being harsh on Willock in that instances, but I’d still say my point counts because Ashford’s goal and assist rate per game has to be the best out of all the first team wingers at the club by some distance.

Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
Fair enough. Bagan is turning into a decent player, i wonder if that loan spell helped him in terms of development, maturity etc? Not that he looked that bad before he went out, although he always looked quiet to me, almost apologetic in terms of him being on the pitch. He has some ability with it, good composure and the rare ability to play at his pace, Ashford has that ability as well. It's a gift. :thumbup:Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostWhat I’d say to counter that is that Ashford was left out yesterday despite having far better scoring and assist rates than any of our other wingers -at twenty, I’d say he still qualifies as a youngster as well. Re: Ramsey, plus youngsters, helps rescue a point.
in the highlights the equaliser went
Colwill - Ng - Ramsey - Bagan - Ramsey - Ashford - Salech.
which is a great to see so many involved, does anyone remember if any other players were in that sequence before Colwill?

Seen it now and you’re right, I was being harsh on Willock, he couldn’t have done much more with that cross.Originally posted by Lord Worcester View PostAgree with your more general point on ashfords contributions - although I think Ollie tanner would run him close - but just specifically on that incident yesterday I did feel willock did all he could.
