    Thanks for posting that, the fact that besides becoming more frequent, hamstring injuries are getting more severe is a concern. I can’t remember them being so frequent when I was young at a time when we used to play four less league games, but with the Welsh Cup and regular participation in Europe, I’d say that there were plenty of seasons when City’s senior team played more games in a season than the the current one does. What cannot be denied though is that players have to sprint more often and further during games than they did fifty years ago and, to this non expert, that seems to be the most plausible explanation as to the increase.

      And we didn't have 5 subs to ease the burden, either, then.
