The upward trend I refer to are the 3 players from the last window, plus Robertson, (a repositioned) Chambers and Fish (who is looking increasingly capable). All from 24/25

I wouldn't defend the stinkers at all...someone hacked their data I reckon :hehe:

Tsunoda has been unfortunate with injuries, but it's hard to blame that on the recruitment team.
They can probably feel that they were justified in expecting more from Meite as well given his track record in the division, but it just hasn't happened.
there are a few genuinely bad ones in there though

I don't believe for a second the responsibility for the signings of either Goutas or Siopis can be attributed to this guy and his team. I'm as certain as I can be that both were exclusively Bulut's men.

If you look at the eight or so players signed in the summer Chambers changing positions has been a success Robertson looks like a very good signing who could either be great for us long term or he’ll be sold for a huge profit
Fish is just getting game time and is only recently starting in the first team
Daland the jury is still out

Simic is a really odd signing, but who knows?
Willock and El Ghazi, I’ve been disappointed in both of them and that leaves Kanga, and there really isn’t anything that hasn’t been said to add to that conversation!!!

At best four have come good at worst two or three out of eight, hardly a ringing endorsement of success in my book

On the flip side I’ve been impressed with all three January signings

Do we really think every player we sign is going to be a superstar?

Like, say , Man Utd that spend 100,s of millions on dummies?

Actually , every football club spends good and bad money . I like our recent additions on the whole .

There I go again with this positive nonsense.

plenty of players have been flops at man utd and looked a lot better away from that club - sometimes a player just doesn't fit

No, not at all. That would be silly. Nobody thinks that. But it would be nice if the club could put together a squad that wasn’t hovering around the relegation zone for much of the season.

I agree, certainly regarding the youngsters, but Willock and El Ghazi have game changing moments too, it's more often than not a watchable experience, the only player I tend to sigh when introduced is Meite, but even he has his (albeit very rare) shining moments..

New infrastructure, personnel and ethos for our transfers - same results (so far). Let's hope it becomes more fruitful, and soon, but it'll need a little time I guess.

                      23/24 summer window:

                      Josh Bowler (loan)

                      Ike Ugbo (loan)

                      23/24 winter window:

                      Famara Diedhiou (loan)
                      Ethan Horvath
                      Nat Phillips (loan)
                      Ryotaro Tsunoda
                      David Turnbull
                      Josh Wilson-Esbrand (loan)

                      24/25 summer window:

                      Callum Chambers
                      Jesper Daland

                      Will Fish
                      Wilfried Kanga (loan)
                      Alex Robertson
                      Roko Simic
                      Chris Willock

                      24/25 winter window:

                      Will Alves (loan)
                      Sivert Mannsverk (loan)
                      Yousef Salech

Don’t think I’ve forgotten anyone (but that’s not guaranteed).

                      24/25 summer window:

                      Callum Chambers -Very Good
Jesper Daland - good and still young
                      Anwar El Ghazi - OK
Will Fish - Good and still young
Wilfried Kanga (loan) - Terrible but only a loan and binned already
Alex Robertson - Very Good and only Young
                      Roko Simic - poor
Chris Willock - Not bad and only a loan

                      24/25 winter window:

Will Alves (loan) - Good loan
Sivert Mannsverk (loan) - Very good loan
Yousef Salech - Very good and will improve

Was he fully responsible for last year or was he appointed late with insufficient time to influence?

This year looks very good to me, although we are seeing the best of them. There are a lot of young players, and it's tough when they find themselves thrown into a relegation battle with all the extra pressure.

I don't think El Ghazi has been as good as OK for the wages we're probably paying him.

Simic early days to write him off yet.

Deboys has been with the club for years also. so he's been a part of previous recruitment strategies to some degree

while neither the Willock or El Ghazi signings have given us the return we probably would have expected, I think they were both fine from a recruitment point of view.

willock had shown he was a decent player at this level.
El Ghazi was a bit of a gamble having been out of the game for so long, but if it had paid off we'd have got a premier League quality senior player, which isn't an opportunity that championship clubs have too often.
I think they were both worth a go, but with their ages and profile they should be leading players for us, and they just haven't.

I'd forgotten we bought him, but doesn't it say they've gone a new way since him, so before was down to the previous guy making the decisions, that would be a bit like blaming a coach for a manager's bad performance.

El Ghazi has been OK sometimes and I didn't see any complaints on here when we signed him, he's underperforming, and as you day early days for Simic but he has been poor too.

There was no complaints on here because we're just going on his name and reputation. They as a professional organisation should be doing far more and if they had done their jobs properly they shouldn't have signed him.
