    Re: Hat removal

When I went in last night they were happy with me opening my coat. Others were gatting a pat down. Seems a bit random.

Elsewhere that fella from Pompey, big hat and the fecking bell was refused entry to Luton last week because he wouldn't take his shoes off.

But if it's a security check and they are looking for weapons?

Maybe they'll need airport security scanners for those that refuse?

              Is nothing safe anymore?

You could hide more under a turban than you can under a hat. Just goes to show how silly it all is .

If you had something hid in a turban it would be a bit of a production getting it out. When you go through customs, they'll sometimes look in the boot of your car. They could take your car to bits, but they're not going to.

At Bristol City we went for a pre match pint in their new stand .
Didn't have to open our coats they just checked us with those metal scanners.

Well you never know, somebody could accidentally land a passenger plane on the pitch.

He'd have to be one hell of a pilot.

Slightly off topic but what was this like before?

Obviously we are all used to living in an era of a broad terrorist threat but I'd say the threat was greater in the 70s and 80s with the IRA?

I have vague memories of being checked going to the odd big game in the early/mid 90s but what was it like before that? I've always felt that sports crowds seem very vulnerable.

Like what were five nations games like in the 70s and 80s for example?
