Crazy what a fairytale story, 2 men’s dreams and an absolute shit load of money can do for the scrappy underdog team.

They're at the so-called "business end" of a promotion-chasing season playing against a close rival. I would expect a better atmosphere than that at the CCS.

They assembled a squad of League One and Two players in the National League. Their wage bill being higher than the other 23 teams combined, and higher than the majority of the league above.

Birmingham are an anomaly spending £30m.

Wrexham are the 3rd highest spending team in League One spending £5m. Last season’s highest spending team was Peterborough with £2.5m. The year before it was Ispwich, also spending £2.5m.

They’re as much a fairytale story as Man City or PSG. The difference is they’ve got a savvy PR team and their owners don’t chop people up with hacksaws or stone gay people to death (I assume).

It's one thing spending money. It's another doing it well.

                      Re: Watching Wrexham..

Funny, I’m never overly impressed when I watch Wrexham, but life is so much easier when you can rely on your defence to keep a clean sheet in something like every third game.

Plenty of clean sheets being kept in League Two today - five 0-0 draws and three games finish 1-0, football is a more defensive game this season than it has been for a few years.

I tend to agree. If they go up this year they'll have FFP rules to adhere to and from what I've seen of them this season they're a little bit 'rustic', perhaps not surprising considering where they were 3 years ago..

All power to Wrexham and their fans.
The bitterness from fans of other clubs when another team get big financial clout is both laughable and pathetic.
If some mega rich Middle East oil baron ploughed millions into us, most folk on here would be creaming themselves.

I watched Notts Co v Crewe earlier. 0-0. The standard was pretty good. The game was entertaining.
