Makes me feel old when I look at where salaries have got to though. I remember starting out as a grad and getting to £25k was decent!
My first salary after graduation in 1977 was £3,500 :old:

Sorry I meant getting to £25k was a success. After quite a few years.
As a grad I didn’t get anywhere near that, I think my first salaried job was either £15k or £16k.
Without doubt salaries have increased although obviously it depends on the sector/skill as to whether they’ve kept the pace

Im not Tesco but we have to put up our prices to cover the increase in employer N.I and minimum wage . We don't have many on Minimum wage , those that are, its just a starting point they have huge bonuses . I cant cover it .

Farage is a worry . F.u.c.k me , if you think its bad now , wait till that charlatan gets in.

Another angle to the hike in NI, teachers !

Reeves's national insurance hike could cancel out Labour's 6500 new teachers pledge
Extra charge employers will 'inevitably' lead to teacher cuts, heads warn, as doubts persist about whether promised new staff will materialise
