  • Blackburn v Middlesbrough

    Boro 2 - 0 up inside 8 mins.

The look on Rudy Gestede's face was a picture. Fan's didn't want him there tonight, I imagine he wishes he wasn't

    1 point from 6 games.

Meanwhile eustace won 4 in a row at derby. Blackburn were top 6 when he left.

Blackburn got 52 points so they are safe but only just. Shame they didn't have 49 or so as could be targeted to go down then.

When rudy was appointed as director of football this is what he said

"My role will be to oversee every department at the Senior Training Centre, from administration to catering to recruitment, and making sure every department is linked together with the Academy.

As a club, we should all be aligned as one and pushing in the same direction, from the Academy to the first team. It’s important for someone to link it all together and I’ll make sure I do my best to help us reach the same goal.”

If we appointed a DOF everyone would be overjoyed at language like this as many think it's just what we need. A few months on and the fans are asking him to stay away from the games.

I know Blackburn are staying up so maybe it has been a success but Just a thought.

Goes to show what a manager can do. I don’t think Ismail is a bad manager either but clearly something isn’t right, he’s not the right fit.

If you pay for a good manager you don’t need a DoF, not at this level anyway.

If Tan isn’t going to pay for a manager he isn’t going to pay for a decent DoF. A poor DoF is the worse case scenario.

Absolutely. I'm no tan apologist but I don't get the clamour for a DOF. However good your DOF is if you have managers like we've had for.the past 5 years you'll be in trouble.

I haven’t seen anything of him that would suggest he’s a good manager. His only attribute is he looks tough.

Paddy Deboys is Head of Recruitment, doing part of the role a DOF does. He spent 4m on Daland.
