Not a surprise. His first half-season (23/24) here was solid, but he never fully recovered after that Turf Moor error, which is one of the absolute worst goalkeeping mistakes I have ever seen.

He's not a bad keeper, but I don't think it's worked out, let's fetch an OK price for him and find another.

Salech will go. Hopefully there's a bidding war.

That will be down to the club, although Salech could sulk and force a move, which would be a bit of a shitty thing to do, although i wouldn't blame him lf he did. Money talks in professional sport.

He doesn't seem like the kind of person to sulk from what I've seen of him so far. Circumstances could change of course, but I think he's got a good morale and mindset for the club.

I'll also say he was the one who ran into the stands to check on the fan having a serious medical episode at the Stoke game, so he's earned a lot of good will with me outside of his performances too. So I'm going to take his word on stuff as it stands.

I think there's probably a difference between what we think he's worth and what other clubs are willing to commit to based on 6 months of evidence at this level.

there have been lots of players who have had a great 6 months in the championship and then done nothing to back it up.

whereas if he has 15-20 goals at that level for one or more seasons then he'd probably be valued at 15-20 million.

I'd say from the clubs point of view it would be much better to keep him than accept a £5 or so bid that we might get this summer
