  • win our last game

and we'll finish only three points less than we did last season when we finished 5th, and we'll have won the same number of games throughout the season.
we would end up with the same points as Swansea who finished 6th and have a much better goal difference.

I think it's arguable that we are as good this season as last, but the teams at the top have just been better.

We've been as good under Mick as we were under Harris last season. Performances under the previous managers were horrendous. Last year was also a crazy low points total.

It's been an unusual season in some respects. Only 4 teams have scored more goals than us at home, yet our home record is the 16th best in the division this season and only 6 teams have lost more games at home.

Our away form is the 4th best in the division and we have the best away record against all teams at the top 6. Only 4 teams have scored more than us away and, had we not had a nightmare at Hillsborough, our away defensive record would be in the top 2.

Despite a tailing off of form under McCarthy, since he took over only 4 sides have won more points than us over the same period, only 4 sides have conceded less goals and only 2 sides have scored more.
