Rudy Gestede

Weird one but Rudy Gestede popped up on my LinkedIn feed today, as someone I know must know him. I clicked on his profile. He's now Head of Football Operations at Blackburn.

I'm sure this isn't news to some, but I didn't realise how prolific he was for a season or two at Blackburn after he left us. He has it listed on his job timeline:

Gestede’s record shows he was a better player than we got to see, although he was only prolific at Blackburn.

I’d compare him to that ex Jack Sidibe who played lots of games for Stoke, many of them in the Premier League.

A friend who is a Blackburn fan mentioned that Blackburn at that time played with 2 wingers who put crosses into the box for Rudy to get on the end of. One of the wingers was Craig Conway who previously played for us.

City's play in recent decades has usually made even the most mediochre strikers look abysmal.
