Re: Barrow AFC
Not quite what you’re asking, but former Coventry goalkeeper Bill Glazier started his career at Crystal Palace whose old nickname is the Glaziers.Originally posted by William Treseder View PostOn the topic of nicknames. Has any other club had a manager that has the same name as the clubs nickname as Walsall have today ?

Re: Barrow AFC
Didn't he change his name by deed poll though after they won the first 30 games of the season? :hehe:Originally posted by William Treseder View PostOn the topic of nicknames. Has any other club had a manager that has the same name as the clubs nickname as Walsall have today ?

Re: Barrow AFC
Can you remember who Rich Tea used to manage? It's on the tip of my tongue....Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI was quite confident one of their managers would have a vague biscuit connection, but I couldn’t find one, so I took a bit of artistic license :hehe:

I'd have gone for Dave McVitie, who apparently (google) actually is a manager. (I'm having a slow afternoon :-) )

Re: Barrow AFC
I'm sure you're right there. Back in the time when they played Huntley and Palmer as a strike duo, had Gary Baldi pulling the strings in midfield, and Jamie Dodger in goals. Those great days before Lewis Dunk redefined British football!Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostThat Dai Gestive didn’t manage Reading did he?
