Brian Barry-Murphy's Barmy Army.........hardly rolls off the tongue easily, does it?
And so it begins. Fans moaning and groaning about the new manager progress. The man they seem to be going for hasn’t even put pen to paper and fans like you are already feeling under whelmed. It’s ****ing mind numbing on here at times.

He has comfortably the worst managerial record of any of the people we've interviewed (Ramsey aside).
I think we need to put his time at Rochdale in context. He took over in April 2019 and got them out of the relegation positions to survive (having only just survived the previous season too). The next season they finished 18th, then they went down to League Two in 2021. He then resigned, and they survived one season in L2 before dropping down to the National League where they've been since, fighting against liquidation this year. It's a small club with very limited resources that did well to survive in L1 as long as did.

Appointing him is more of a gamble than some of the others linked, but I think there's more to him than someone who got Rochdale relegated.

Plymouth no longer after him after Tom Cleverley has just gone in there.

Yes, yes, but he's going to develop our golden generation and give youth a chance. It's not all about winning football matches..

I agree, Rochdale was his first job in coaching/management and Man City his second. Man City are not in the business of hiring dummies and he can only have got his job with them on the back of what he did at Rochdale. Therefore, even though he has a relegation on his managerial CV, it’s over simplifying things to say he failed at Rochdale.

We’d have been telling them to lump it after the 4th pass…….

Quite intrigued by this appointment. We are league one so can’t expect to attract that big a name

It's hardly surprising we've appointed a few like this, Trollope, Hudson, Morison, Riza, each has been a disaster. Do you expect people to be happy about a relegation manager, a relegation assistant, with some coaching experience at a good club?

I'd be happier with a proper experienced Manager who has been promoted, and him as head coach for the academy.

Let's see what he can do, he's got his big chance to prove himself and we've taken another gamble on a coach.

You're right. The club seems to have blurred the lines between someone who is going to bring on younger players and a manager with experience of managing senior pros and winning football matches. Yes, the roles do and can overlap, but there really should be just 1 thing on the Club's mind and that is getting back to the Championship pronto. I can see it now, 3 or 4 years time still in league 1 but everyone's happy because we have a team of mainly home grown talent..

Chris Coleman is available. Should the club have a last-minute change of mind?
