    Re: 7pm tonight

I wouldn't trust ***** at all. But Si (and others close to him) is a different matter. Put it this way - if they are wrong, they have been completely hoodwinked by the Otto group. I just cannot imagine why they would want to do that.

There’s been talk that Gary Otto has been in negotiations to buy Cardiff City for the last five or six months. Yet at the same time, Companies House now shows that ACV Sports Ventures (his vehicle) holds 50–75% of Sutton United’s shares, and he’s listed as the only person with significant control.

My question is — why would he allow that to happen if he’s supposedly trying to buy Cardiff?

I only ask because under EFL rules, you canÂ’t have control or ownership of more than one club. So if heÂ’s aiming to take over Cardiff, wouldnÂ’t taking control of Sutton now actually prevent that?

The club said at the AGM that he “doesn’t intend to take a controlling interest,” yet the filings now say otherwise — so I’m struggling to understand the logic or strategy here. Is this something that might make sense from a financial or legal perspective?
You are quite right about the EFL dual ownership rules. However, if he were just a minority shareholder in a CCFC acquisition, there may be some leeway available in the rules. Of far more importance though is the claim that the South African consortium has received clearance from the EFL that they have passed the necessary fit and proper person test. This is simply not true as the EFL have told me that there has not even been an approach to them to start such a procedure. There is an EFL board meeting today so I should have confirmation and a further update by tomorrow.

I agree entirely, which is why the Trust have told the directors that their response (or lack of) is simply not good enough.

I am also aware that both the FAB and the Supporters Club have written to both Steve Borley and Ken Choo and not had even the courtesy of a reply

              Thanks 👍

Not replying at all is poor - sums the problem up really.

The club hasn’t released anything from their official channels, which is odd given the intensity of these ‘rumours’.

The media team must have their hands tied at the moment and are unable to release any information relating to potential takeovers. I think it is actually damaging to the professional reputation of Mark Denham who is the Head of Communications at Cardiff City at a time when communication seems forcefully so bad. I would definitely be demanding some form of compensation for being made to look so shit!

No reason that I can`t post it if told by an EFL board member

What I don't get about the information on the other board is how are they able to put it out there if it is so wide of the mark

It is one thing saying a transfer all done and dusted and then back tracking but this is another level - if their strategy is just to say tan has changed his mind and then ramp up the protests surely tan would have case for legal action if it is all so untrue? And we know tan loves legal action as do his lawyers

They are already planning celebratory marches , stadium expansions and are expecting sell out crowds.🤣

IÂ’m not criticising you personally, just making the point that none of us really know the full picture. People can claim things, others can deny them, but the only ones who truly know whatÂ’s happened are those directly involved.
You say none of us really know the full picture, which I agree with, yet, before that , you say “the fact is, they have made an offer or are in discussions with Tan and others”. Again, I suspect that, to some degree, that is true, but, to use your phrase, the fact is that, currently, we have some, not all, on one side adamant that there have been talks with various bodies held which mean that there will be announcement about a successful takeover quite soon, whereas the other side dismiss the bid as “rumours “ while denying things like the meeting supposedly held in Monaco a few days ago - the sides seem to be miles apart if what they’re allowing to get out into the public domain is anything to go by.

I think you have just spent all your daily allowance of commas, Bob.

Fair enough, you are correct, it's not a fact, although we both agree there has probably been some contact.

Where have all these As with a circumflex above come from?

They don't appear to be in place of commas.

It is affecting loads of posts - like when the quote function fails, or slow response times cause duplicate posts to be made.

                              Starting to get very annoying.
