We’re just as bad at the back as last year. Poor goals conceded, being done on the counter, goals from the edge of the area, all hallmarks of last years relegated team. We need reinforcements at the back else we’re doing nothing this year, we’ll score more than last year so no threat of relegation but mid table awaits if we don’t reinforce

The types of bad goals we gave up last season aren’t going away, league one teams will be licking their chops at the thought of getting the ball forward quickly and into the box against our lightweight and error prone defense.

It’s frustrating because it feels like there’s some optimism about for BBM’s leadership but he’s not addressed the prime reason we went down last year.

I’ve predicted 10th, if we get a CB, LB, Winger I think we can get into playoffs.

Top two I think we need another CB, RB, GK and probably another striker.

I think keeper and left back are our top priority. Horvath is poor and I don't think Giles is up to it yet to be our backup

For me CB and LB have to be the priority, we have to get both. We hardly have a left back and while we have numbers at CB no one who likes to defend and no player ready for L1.

We can cope with Horvath and Alnick if needed.

It has the feel of Paul Trollope to me. He will be a good talker and get a lot of time but it will be a frustrating watch with minimal good signs. I hope this is being quoted in May and I have egg on my face but I am worried he is someone better suited to a role away from first team football

First game I’ve watched the whole 90 minutes and the same worries from last season are still there.

I think that’s a bit of a simplistic view of pre season. There’s a defined attacking shape that’s evident from the games, as is the defensive weakness that took us down.

It's hard to know where we are from that. I think in non competitive matches it's easier to showcase what you can do going forward as defensively it's a non competitive match that no one wants an injury from.

Particularly against qpr I took positives from the patterns of play and the aggressive pressing but in these matches it's always got to be mentioned that any tackles made are likely at 50% at best.

Apart from the lad on Robertson.

I do though have a funny feeling we will be caught out on the break a lot, not sure why!

With a young team we're likely to be inconsistent. I think we'll have some very entertaining wins but whether there'll be enough of them to challenge remains the question.
